티끌모아 태산 - A Short Story

To film a particular scene in the movie Vanilla Sky the producers had to enlist the help of The New York Police Department to keep Times Square vacant for approximately 1 hour. It was a big deal coordinating solitude in the city that never sleeps. However, you would never have that problem here. This part of town is vacant.

Cultivating mental health builds confidence

This article appeared in the January 6 edition of The Barrie Examiner as the latest entry of Johnny Glanville's THE INSTRUCTOR column. It is an article about the benefits of therapy, especially as a preventative means. One of my favorite moments of being a tennis coach is the moment at the end of someone’s first lesson.

The Underwater Visitor - Published in The Windsor Review

My socks are old and the elastic has loosened. They hang over my shoes and the sweat from my legs runs straight down to the soles of my feet. This film was chosen as part of the 2011 Barrie Film Festival. It was shot in a single day in April of 2011. Its origins came from my father calling me up and telling me the cottage had been sold. I had a few weeks to go make sure none of my stuff was there.

You Matter - by Johnny Glanville

This is my first attempt at poetry/prose. I was inspired by Shayne Koyczan who does this kind of stuff really well and since I had a bunch of left-over footage from the summer of 2011 it became a little three day project for me.

What not to say to a pregnant woman

My wife is six months pregnant as she asks me how she looks. "You look normal and healthy, like you're pregnant," I reply. Wrong answer. She already knows this (the pregnant part) and for her, this is a bad thing; she wants to have the baby without actually looking like she's having the baby.

The Battery Thief - Short Story

Billy’s tall tale was the only tall thing about him. Standing more than 6 inches shorter then the already shortest girl in his class Billy was the smallest kid in town by a long shot. At 10 years old he looked more like he was 8,
