Smith Bros THE REAL DEAL
Sebastian (14) and Adrian (12) Smith have been playing seriously for just a few years and in that time have quickly climbed the national rankings to become a serious force for tennis in the Barrie area. Although they are actually free agents, with no associated home court, they do spend a lot of their training time in Barrie, where they live and go to school. Perhaps you have noticed them on the courts at BNWT training with their father Brian (also a former nationally ranked player)
These brothers are THE REAL DEAL with no false illusions of grandeur, day in and day out they train with intensity and drive with a knowledge and understanding how tough the international tennis circuit is. And they already have extensive experience in the junior tennis world. Adrian is the #1 ranked doubles player in the country for U12's and #4 for singles, while Sebastian is in the younger of the two eligible years of U16 with a solid provincial ranking as well.
I've been able to train with them a few times and have seen first hand the strong focus on competing and playing 'full out for the future' type tennis. Their father fashions the training sessions to focus on the future and thus allows the brothers to play aggressive tennis.
Certainly many factors need to fall in place for a junior to excel on the world stage, but both Adrian and Sebastian have as good a chance as any I have seen as juniors (Sam Stosur, Bernard Tomic, and Peter Polansky). These two brothers combine clutch performance skills and hard work, and they are being led by a knowledgeable and intelligent parent/coach.
Remember the names because these brothers from Barrie are THE REAL DEAL.
